How to Read Your Prescription and Order the Correct Contact Lenses on MocoQueen

Posted by Mocoqueen on 7th Aug 2025

If you’re looking to order prescription cosplay or colored lenses from MocoQueen, but you’re not quite sure how to match your eye prescription to our product options—don’t worry! ? You're not alone, and we're here to help make the process simple, clear, and stress-free.✨

? Step 1: Make Sure You Have a Valid Contact Lens Prescription

A glasses prescription and a contact lens prescription are not the same thing! Contact lenses sit directly on your eye, so their fit and power are different from glasses. Before ordering, please double-check that:
  • Your prescription is for contact lenses (not glasses).
  • It includes details for both eyes.
  • It clearly lists information like Power (SPH), BC (Base Curve), and DIA (Diameter).
  • It is not expired. In the U.S., most prescriptions are valid for 1–2 years.
? Please note: Whether you're ordering prescription or non-prescription lenses, a valid contact lens prescription is required.

?️ Step 2: Check if Our Lenses Are Suitable for Your Prescription

At MocoQueen, we currently offer two types of lenses:
  • Prescription lenses (marked with “Rx” on the product page)
  • Non-prescription lenses (no “Rx” marking)
All of our lenses are standard-manufactured, which means we do not offer custom lens services at this time. Our prescription lenses are designed to correct standard nearsightedness (myopia) only. We currently do not offer lenses for astigmatism or farsightedness.
When checking if our lenses are suitable for you, please look at:
  • SPH (Sphere/Power)
  • DIA (Diameter)
  • BC (Base Curve): The curvature of the lens. Slight differences (±0.2) are generally acceptable, but consult your doctor if unsure.
? For customers with mild astigmatism or farsightedness: You may ask your eye care provider whether it's safe for you to wear non-prescription lenses for short periods for cosmetic use only.

? Step 3: Select Your Prescription Based on Each Eye

Please follow these steps when selecting your prescription:
  • If both eyes have the same prescription:
      • ➤ Select your left eye (OS) power based on your prescription.
      • ➤ Then choose “Same as Power (L)” for your right eye (OD).
  • If your eyes have different prescriptions:
      • ➤ Select your left eye (OS) power.
      • ➤ Then choose your right eye (OD) power using the “-XXX (Add $3.99)” option.
? Important Note: Our prescription lenses increase in -0.50 increments only (e.g., -1.00, -1.50, -2.00). If your prescription includes -0.25 values (e.g., -1.25), we recommend choosing the closest lower option (e.g., -1.00). Choosing a higher power than needed may lead to discomfort or blurry vision.
? Inventory Tip: Our inventory is based on your left eye (OS) selection. If your left eye power is available, your order is in stock. If the left eye power is not available, the product is out of stock—even if the right eye option is selectable.

? Step 4: Uploading Your Prescription for Verification (U.S. Customers)

If you're located in the United States and ordering prescription lenses, you’ll need to upload your contact lens prescription for verification.
Please upload it through our secure HIPAA-compliant form here: ? https://mocoqueen.com/Pages/prescription-verification
Once submitted:
  • Our verification team will carefully review your prescription.
  • If there’s any issue or missing information, we’ll reach out to you before shipping.
  • If everything looks good, your order will proceed normally—you do not need to wait for a confirmation from us to complete your purchase.
✅ Just place your order as usual and upload the Rx—we’ll take care of the rest!
